This is a Bonus Track!

The initial idea for Calm Comfort came to me years ago on a family vacation to Vail, Colorado. There was a piano in the house and I sat down to write the song after everyone had gone to sleep. The song is simply about the quiet calmness of winter - that moment after the snow stops falling and everything is still. I did my best to capture that feeling in this song.

Frost is forming,
Tired eyes close in on the world

The dark is deep,
The halls are haunting
Night creeps in and swallows us whole

The cat is purring
It’s tail is twirling
All curled up in it’s winter coat

The fire dying

With nothing to heat and no one to warm

Softly sinking settling in the sheets
Calm comfort as stillness overcomes
Drinks are pouring bottles emptied on the floor
Laughter echoes through the hallways

The moon is rising
Stars are shining
The winter sky is clear and full

Time is everything and nothing at all
